Back of the neck and adequate support is important in all aspects of life – sleeping, standing, lifting, and sitting. It is especially important for people who suffer back and neck pain. But what about the times when they are sleeping, standing, lifting, or sitting? What happens when you relax?

Lounging in a chair or sofa does not relieve pressure on his back. In fact, adds to the pressure on your back and neck. It is impractical to sit upright in an ergonomic office chair or standing in your living room when relaxing after dinner or reading a novel.

One solution to this problem is a zero gravity recliner. A zero gravity chair is ergonomically designed to recline up to a point where it relieves tension in the spine.

Zero gravity recline is a technique that was developed by NASA to minimize the force exerted on the bones of astronauts during liftoff. In a vertical position position, either standing or sitting, gravity places pressure on the spine. This causes the discs to compress and muscles contract to maintain balance. When gravity is neutralized, muscles of the back rest and return the disc to its normal size and shape.

Zero gravity recliners extend downward legs above the heart to achieve that neutralized the effect of gravity on the back. This results in:

  • correct alignment column
  • reduced pressure on the back
  • less muscle tension
  • less stress on the heart
  • better movement

The position of zero gravity is also known as the "90/90" because the position of right angles formed in the hips and knees. This puts the spine in the correct position of repose where it forms a curve in S. In this position, you eliminate almost all the pressure on the lower back.

Find a zero-gravity chair that reclines smoothly and returns to a vertical position with ease. Zero gravity recliners often come with adjustable headrests and neck rolls. Also consider a chair that includes a massage function. Other features include a lumbar pillow, resting power, adjustable footrest, and memory foam cushioning.
