Hardly a day passed without someone requests the recipe for Catering Canopy Rose Sweet and Jazzy Dressing.
"It's a proprietary secret. I taught my staff to say.
At Canopy Rose Catering in Tallahassee, Florida, which serves this sauce as our house dressing. It was also the secret ingredient in hundreds, if not thousands of recipes during my tenure as Florida-based designer of special events and catering.
I have long since closed the business, in order to continue the creative efforts of others, I am happy to share some of the popular recipes that tickle the palate of our wonderful customers. This recipe was legendary in the capital Florida, South Georgia and among the coastal communities of Florida beach often served.
When you do this, be sure to take the time to shake a lot! At first you may not look good to you. But I have faith!
A very conscientious woman who worked with me in the early years was crying in the kitchen one morning.
"What?" I asked.
"I messed up the dressing," she sobbed.
"It's not bad." I said: "You just do not move enough."
A few minutes from the charming smile returned to his face when dressing ingredients combined in a glorious bright ruby red.
Canopy Rose Sweet and Jazzy Dressing
4 cups canola oil
3 cups sauce tomato
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 cups fresh diced onion
4 cups sugar
Lots of black pepper
salt and seasoning salt to taste
Shake or stir well! Keep refrigerated.
Sweet and Jazzy is great in salads, sauces, adds, incorporated BBQ sauce, served as a sauce and baked good lip-smacking pork cooking time chicken dishes.
